Jeuveau Frequently Asked Questions

What is Jeuveau “NewTox”?
Jeuveau is another botulinum toxin product and the newest in the injectable market. It is the first new neurotoxin to get FDA approval for the treatment of moderate to severe frown lines in over a decade. It relaxes the muscles that create wrinkles when they contract, effectively reversing the signs of aging.

Jeuveau has a similar molecular weight to Botox. But, they are produced in different facilities and are derived from different strains of the same highly purified Botulinum Toxin A. Jeuveau also applies additional steps in the purification process of the protein, boosting its safety and aiding with its absorption. Its fast onset, long lasting results, strong safety profile, and competitive price, all separate it from the different brands of Botulinum Toxin A making it one of the best anti – aging treatments available.

How do Jeuveau injections work?
Jeuveau blocks the neurotransmitters that signal the muscles to flex causing them to relax. This results in smoothing expression lines and wrinkles formed by their contraction.

How does NEWTOX fight the signs of aging?
Jeuveau injections fight the signs of aging by relaxing the underlying muscles which cause wrinkles and lines to appear on the skin. When the muscles are relaxed which prevents more wrinkles in that area.

Keep in mind though, that wrinkles can also be caused by sun exposure, the natural maturing process, and smoking. Jeuveau is less effective against these “static wrinkles”, but will still greatly improve the overall appearance of the skin.

Jeuveau vs Botox?
Both Jeuveau and Botox contain the active ingredient botulinum toxin type A. They are both effective cosmetic improvement treatments for unwanted and unattractive facial lines and wrinkles. They are applied similarly, and produce similar results (lasting up to 3 – 4 months). Many current Botox patients that used Jeuveau interchangeably, found results equally satisfying. So what is the difference between Jeuveau and Botox then?

The main difference is that Botox has medical indications such as migraine treatment. Prior to its FDA approval for cosmetics, Botox was initially approved for medical uses only. Jeuveau, on the other hand, is not a medical product and was not developed for the medical market, it was designed specifically for cosmetics.

Jeuveau also uses different manufacturing processes. Its Hi-Pure™ technology takes added steps to remove dangerous proteins and to aid with absorption, which might lead to a faster onset in some patients (3 – 4 days).

Finally, Jeuveau costs slightly less than Botox while having faster onset for some patients.

Are Jeuveau Injections Painful?
The treatments are gentle and quick. A very fine needle is used to inject into the muscle. Icing the area of treatment helps prevent discomfort and bruising.

How long do the Jeuveau effects last?
The effects from a single treatment of Jeuveau are similar to Botox which will normally last 3 – 4 months.
