The best candidate for laser genesis?
Any man or woman of any age and skin type is looking to improve their skin complexion. They want no downtime like that associated with laser skin resurfacing.
What are the benefits of Laser Genesis?
The dermal heating stimulates collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This Yag technology wavelength is also absorbed by red and brown pigmentation helping to break it down thus improving the skin’s overall appearance. So if you are trying to improve wrinkles, red scarring, and pigmentation from acne, diffuse redness and vessels from rosacea, or treat sun damage, skin discoloration, or melasma then a series of treatments is a great option for your skin problems. Your laser genesis skin will feel and look healthy after this no-downtime procedure.
What is the difference between Laser Genesis and other laser technologies?
Genesis skin therapy is a comfortable, non-ablative form of skin therapy safe on all skin types. The dermal heating not only targets vascular lesions and rosacea but patients with fine wrinkles and pigmented lesions have also seen remarkable results as it stimulates collagen. With this treatment, patients see subtle yet consistent improvement after each treatment, without any trauma to the skin. Other treatments like IPL, which focuses mainly on brown spots can have unwanted side effects such as excessive skin irritation, long healing time and even bruising that may not fit into your lifestyle.
What areas can be treated with Laser Genesis?
This cosmetic treatment can be used on the nose for pore size, the cheeks and neck for redness, the lip and face for wrinkles and chest, and any body area for an array of skin problems The only area on a patient that it cannot safely be used are the eyelids.
What are facial vessels, telangiectasia, and diffused redness?
Telangiectasia and facial vessels are dilated capillaries that commonly appear on the surface of the face and in areas around the nose, cheeks, and above the neckline. Prolonged sun exposure, aging, trauma, genetics, and other factors can cause capillaries to become dilated and visible. Laser Genesis treatment will help reduce diffuse redness.
How to prepare for your Laser Genesis treatment?
There are no complicated pretreatment rituals with this procedure. It is recommended to stop the use of mechanical and chemical exfoliates (Retin A, Renova, glycolic acids, vitamin C products, and any other potential irritants) 3 days prior to treatment and reduce sun exposure on the areas that are being treated. You will also be asked to shave the hair in the area being treated. Prior to the actual laser treatment, your face will be cleaned.
How often should you do Laser Genesis and how many treatments do you need?
As everyone’s skin is unique, the number of treatments you’ll need will vary depending on your skin’s condition, the problem area that is being treated, and the desired outcome. On average, you will require 4 to 6 laser treatments to achieve the optimal results you are looking for. A recent study has shown that 4 laser genesis treatments at monthly intervals stimulate your own collagen production for a year. During your initial consultation, the aesthetic nurse will provide you with more specific guidance on the series of treatments required to achieve your desired outcome. After the initial series, an additional treatment every 6 months will help maintain results.
What to expect during your treatment?
The Laser Genesis treatment at The Laser Image Company is an extremely comfortable and soothing experience. The treatment itself is completely pain-free, and you will not require a local anesthetic, numbing cream, or ice. During the procedure, the handpiece is floated half an inch above the skin surface, creating a warm and pleasant sensation as the laser restores and rejuvenates from the inside out. As there are no downtime or side effects associated with this procedure, you can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment.
Is the Laser Genesis treatment painful?
The laser facial treatment is not painful and therefore does not require the use of any topical anesthetic. Typically patients will describe their experience as relaxing and comfortable like warm water droplets on the face. You will feel a gentle warming of your skin’s surface as the laser light penetrates the upper dermis of your skin. For acne scarring, you may experience some discomfort because a more aggressive treatment with more heat is required. Any discomfort is easily tolerable for the impressive results seen.
What results to expect after the Laser Genesis treatment?
First, immediately after the treatment, you will experience a sun-kissed glow. Many clients have this laser treatment before a special event because of the instant youthful effects. Results are subtle but noticeable and effects increase over the month following each laser treatment. Gradually, patients notice a lightening of age spots, a reduction in the sight of facial veins, and an overall smoothing of the texture and fine lines. Over the course of approximately 4-6 treatments, the Laser Genesis will restore your skin’s youthful glow. When you look in the mirror, you’ll see a smooth and radiant complexion, as well as significant improvement in the appearance of fine lines, blemishes, and the size of your pores. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of a series of treatments can be quite dramatic.
What are the possible side effects of Laser Genesis?
As with any light source procedure, there is always a chance of skin irritation but the most commonly noticed side effect is slight redness in the area treated. That diffuse redness usually disappears within 30 minutes to reveal your laser genesis skin. Always protect your skin from the sun with an SPF 30+.
