Plasma Fibroblast Therapy to Improve Lines, Wrinkles, and Sagging Skin

Plasma fibroblast therapy is one of the latest revolutionary skin rejuvenation treatments performed at The Laser Image Company Medical Spa South Bay. This procedure reduces excess skin, lifts and tightens the face and body without invasive, expensive eye lift, facelift, neck lift, and body lift cosmetic surgery.  There is less downtime, no cutting or stitches like traditional surgery, and creates lasting results.

Also referred to as the Plasma Lift or Fibroblast Skin Tightening procedure, works by using a plasma pen to create micro-injuries to the skin. The tissue being treated immediately contracts and tightens. The micro-wounds also trigger the body’s natural healing process, stimulating fibroblast cellular activity and collagen and elastin production in the connective tissue. This treatment naturally improves fine lines, deeper wrinkles, loose/sagging skin, and creepy skin on the face, neck, and body. The Fibroblast Plasma Pen can be used anywhere, but it is most commonly used on the face for tightening the skin of the upper eyelid and for wrinkles around the eyes, a non-surgical eyelift.

Frequently Asked Questions – Plasma Fibroblast Therapy

How does plasma fibroblast therapy skin tightening work?

This plasma skin regeneration technology is relatively new in North America but has been safely and effectively performed in Europe for many years. This cosmetic procedure uses a precision pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to pinpoint areas of the skin. This plasma charge creates an electrical arc that instantly shrinks the targeted skin tissue and creates a micro-injury.

This micro-trauma from the Fibroblast Plasma Pen stimulates fibroblast growth factors, forming new collagen (neocollagenesis) to heal the tiny injuries and builds collagen within the skin which helps tighten skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. This process of repair tightens and rejuvenates the skin surface.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required will depend on the area being treated, the client’s skin response, and the desired degree of correction. On average 2 treatments are recommended, 12 weeks apart, to achieve an improvement of 40 to 70% in the appearance of wrinkles depending on the area treated. However, this might differ once we see the area.

Clients can expect to see results instantly and these will continue to improve over the course of the following 12 weeks.

What skin conditions can be helped with plasma fibroblast treatment?

The Fibroblast Plasma Pen can be used anywhere on the face or body with fine wrinkles, loose skin, or crepey skin. It is most commonly used on the face for tightening the skin of the upper eyelid, hooding of the eyelids, and wrinkles around the eyes. The Plasma Fibroblast Pen can help with tightening lax skin around the eyes, giving the patient an “eye-lift”. It can be considered as a less expensive alternative before undergoing invasive eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). The Plasma Fibroblast Pen is also helpful for those seeking wrinkle improvement too close to the eyes for Botox/Dysport or Jeuveau to be given.

The skin tightening effect from the plasma fibroblast therapy will help with, laxity on the neck, soften forehead lines, facial lines, jowls, and other mild to moderate wrinkled skin areas of the face and body. In addition, collagen creation will help smooth acne scars and superficial skin resurfacing treats photoaging, including sunspots, skin tag/mole removal, and seborrheic keratosis.

Who is a good candidate for fibroblast plasma therapy?

Fibroblast plasma therapy can help people with most skin types, but this treatment is safest to do on lighter skin tones, Fitzpatrick 1-3 is ideal. Those with darker skin complexions have a higher risk of pigmentation changes and are better off with microneedling treatments instead of the Fibroblast Plasma Pen.

No one is ever too old for the treatment and the worse the concern is the better results we will see. It is never too late to be comfortable and happy in your own skin!  However, people with a lighter complexion, skin tone,  will see more substantial results.

How long does it take to recover from fibroblast plasma therapy?

As with most cosmetic procedures, patients will experience side effects that will last between five to ten days depending on the area being treated. All clients will have tiny brown marks in the treatment area. These are the results of the micro-injury from the plasma flash and will flake away within a week. It is very important to not pick on these scabs, and let them come off on their own, as picking on them can result in scarring and infection. Swelling is common in soft tissue areas like eyelids which could last three to five days.

How much does the procedure cost?

When comparing the cost of plasma fibroblast therapy to surgery it is certainly more affordable. The cost depends on what areas are being treated. Here are a few of our prices for different areas which include anesthetic cream.

Plasma Upper eyelid – $500, Two treatments – $900

Plasma Neck Lift – $700, two for $1260

What to expect on your treatment day?

It is recommended to come in with clean skin, no make-up, or moisturizer on the treatment area. We recommend taking an antihistamine one hour before your appointment and continue to take it for two to three days to help reduce swelling.

A numbing cream is applied to the area to reduce any discomfort. During the procedure, you may feel some heat and minor irritation. Total procedure time is dependent on the body area being treated but approximately 1 hour for a small area including all prep.

How long do the results last from a Fibroblast Plasma Therapy treatment?

Once the desired results from the Plasma treatment have been achieved, they will last between 3-5 years on average. This is because the skin carries on aging at the natural rate – this means some people may not need it doing again and others may like another treatment after this period of time to maintain results.

What areas do we service?

Plasma fibroblast therapy at The Laser Image company is done in Redondo Beach, serving Torrance, Palos Verdes, Hermosa Beach, and the greater Los Angeles area.
