Restylane is a natural, safe, and long-lasting dermal filler used to smooth out folds and wrinkles and enhance lips. Just by adding the filler, we increase volume to the area which can make an enormous difference in one’s appearance. Even dark eye circles can be diminished with this facial filler.

Restylane contains the body’s own natural material, hyaluronic acid, which is present in all living organisms. In the skin, the dermal filler creates volume, resulting in a healthy, fuller, and more youthful look.

FAQ’s – Restylane

What is Restylane?
Restylane is a temporary dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body to attract moisture. It is injected into the skin for facial contouring, lip augmentation, and wrinkle correction.

How is Restylane different from Botox?
Restylane is injected into the skin to decrease lines or add fullness. Botox is injected into the muscle to decrease muscle contraction. A combination approach using both wrinkle fillers and muscle relaxers usually has the most dramatic anti-aging results.

How long do the effects of Restylane last?
When injected properly, the effects of Restylane last up to 6 months in the lips and up to 12 months in other parts of the face. The dermal filler also stimulates your own body’s collagen production which helps reduce wrinkles and skin folds.

In what areas can Restylane be used?
Restylane can be used to fill in lines and wrinkles on the face such as between the eyebrows, on the forehead, the crow’s feet, nasolabial folds (from lip to mouth), marionette lines, and lip lines. It can also be used to add definition to the border of the lip, or to fill in acne scars.

What are the side effects of Restylane injections?
It is normal after dermal filler injections to have redness, swelling, pain, or tenderness lasting for a few days. Restylane is very safe, but in a small percentage of people, the temporary effects of redness, swelling, and tenderness can last for several weeks.

How long does the actual procedure take?
Depending on how many areas you have treated, the actual Restylane injections may take 20 to 30 minutes.

Are Restylane injections painful?
Restylane contains an anesthetic (numbing medicine), so injections are easily tolerable. Topical numbing creams or nerve blocks to numb the lips are commonly used before the procedure to make it more comfortable for you.

How long before I can go back to work after Restylane treatments?
Most people can return to work immediately after Restylane treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. If you have filler injections in your lips, swelling can last for several days.

Is it safe to drive after having Restylane injections?
At the laser clinic, we treat clients with Restylane from Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Los Angeles and there is no problem for them to drive after the procedure.

How much does Restylane cost?
Restylane price is dependent on the area being treated, the amount of correction the client requests, and the number of syringes needed to achieve that goal. For example treatment of lips would usually be a single syringe and a total Restylane cost of $600. The nurse injecting the dermal filler will discuss the exact cost specific to your concerns before anything is started.
