FAQ’s – Volbella Dermal Filler
What is Volbella™ used for?
Volbella is specifically used for the delicate lip area, to enhance the fullness and to fill the peri-oral rhytides or smokers lines. It is also treated under eye dark circles and hollowness.
Who is a good candidate for Volbella treatments?
Patients over the age of 21 who are in good health and wish to enhance or smooth their lip area are considered a good candidate for this treatment.
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive this or any dermal filler treatments?
What is the difference between Juvederm™ and Volbella?
Volbella is the first filler from Allergan, the makers of Botox, that is designed specifically for the lips. The smooth gel, developed with Vycross technology, gives a more natural, softer feel than Juvederm, making it perfect for the delicate lip area.
Could I be allergic to Volbella?
Allergies are extremely rare but some patients can have sensitivity to lidocaine or other ingredients within this dermal filler and should take precautions.
What are the Volbella side effects?
Patients may experience tenderness, redness, and possibly some bruising but it is rare because of the soft smooth properties of this filler. Any side effects usually subside within 1-3 days.
What will I experience when I get Volbella injections?
When you come in for your Volbella injection appointment, you will have numbing cream placed on the area that is to be injected for about 15-20 minutes. Ice will also be applied for numbing and to help prevent bruising. Once the area is numb and iced, the area will be injected with a thin needle and the Volbella will then be gently massaged. The entire process will take less than 10 minutes after numbing.
Is it safe to drive after having Volbella injections?
At the Laser Image Company, we treat clients with Volbella from Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Los Angeles and there is no problem for them to drive after the procedure.
How much does Volbella cost?
Volbella’s price is dependent on the area being treated, the amount of correction the client requests, and the number of syringes needed to achieve that goal. For example, most patients treating the lips would need a single syringe costing $550.
