Do you have stubborn pigmentation caused from sun exposure and melasma? I have suffered with this skin issues for years and it has taken a toll on my self confidence without makeup. I’ve tried many creams and laser treatments with no luck.
I have a darker skin tone, due to my ethnicity, so I was limited to some of the laser treatments I could do that target dark spots or pigmentation, such as IPL or Co2. Being that I was not a candidate for these treatments, I was ecstatic when I came across the Cosmedix Deep Sea Peel. Not going to lie, I was nervous about the peeling process that would last anywhere from 4-7 days post peel.. but I was excited to see the full results at the two week mark.
Deep Sea Peel, What Does it Feel Like
The actually peel process was not fun. Definitely tolerable, but not very comfortable or for those with very sensitive skin. The peel is applied and massaged on the face or body anywhere from 2-10 minutes.. the longer you can stand the massaging, the deeper the peel will penetrate. I tried to hold out for as long as I could. I lasted 8 minutes, before Madison removed the peel with cool water. It continued to remain warm and sensitive hours after the peel. I did experience erythema (redness) and a pin-like, prickly feeling to touch after the peel. I will continue to keep my skin hydrated over the next few days and can’t wait to see my new skin unveil!
