Wouldn’t it be great if we all could get facials, peels, laser treatments, Botox and Dermal fillers whenever we wanted to keep our skin youthful? I love that idea and I think almost all everyone would agree but it is not reality for most of us.
I think it’s worth spending the time and money to take care of our skin. When you look good you feel good and what is better then a youthful glow to perk you up everyday. We only have one skin and it is the largest organ on our body, so why not take good care of it?
That being said, only you can decide if money spent a skin treatment plan is worth the price. I would never suggest you go into financial debt to improve your skin, instead take a look at your budget and goals and consult with us at The Laser Image Company. We can design an affordable skin plan for your concerns and budget?
Ask yourself what is your main concern with your skin and what would you like to improve?
Simple question, right? That question usually gets a long answer and I know there can be so many things, pigmentation, laxity, wrinkles, acne, texture, and on and on. Start with the skin condition that bothers you the most. We can tackle each problem together, we just need to make a plan and stick to it.
Think of it in terms of repair and maintenance. If your skin needs a lot of help in the beginning it might seem expensive, but trust me, it gets easier and less expensive over time and your skin will thank you.
First up, what kind of skin care products do you use at home and do they really work?
Sometimes I have clients come in to the office saying they hate their skin and do not know what to do about it. They do not want to change their skin care products because they like them and have used them forever. Hint, if your products are causing irritation and are not taking care of your skin problem, you should probably stop using them and try something else.
Let a professional take a look at your skin and the products you are using, and be receptive to what they have to say. It is their job to know what skin care ingredients will help your skin condition.
Step One: Home Skincare
Get on a home skin care plan that works for your skin type. In general, your skin care professional will want your skin clean with a good cleanser, moisturize it, protect it with sunscreen and use a repair/anti-aging product to fight free radical damage. Good products also help your skin prepare for peels and laser treatments allowing for deeper penetration thus giving better results.
Step Two: Exfoliation
Exfoliating procedures like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning and Hydrafacials remove the outer layer of dead skin cells and help to un-clog your pores. These treatments will brighten your skin, help with spots, tone and texture. They are safe and effective for everyone, and will prepare your skin for step three, which is laser.
Step Three: Laser
Laser. The word “Laser” can be a little scary, but the treatments are far from that. There are so many different types of lasers out there, from the most gentle like the Genesis, which I love by the way, to IPL and vein removal lasers, to the more aggressive Fractional CO2. All lasers target specific skin concerns and have different degrees of downtime associated with them. We would determined together what laser would be best for you based on what your concerns and goals are for your skin.
Step Four: Botox & Dermal Fillers
Botox and dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Radiesse and Volbella treat superficial and deeper wrinkles on your face. Dermal fillers actually fill the lines while Botox relaxes the muscles that make them. The best part of step 4 is that you will see an instant change in your face.
It is hard to put a number on what to spend on your skin, because everyone is unique and different. Have a consultation on the different procedures, see what steps you are comfortable with, figure out your budget then we can start you on the road to loving your skin.
