A PRP “facelift” is a non-surgical, no knife, no anesthesia treatment using your own blood plasma to rejuvenate your skin from inside out. Your own body’s PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) contains active growth factors that stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin in our skin.

The PRP procedure sets a natural skin improvement process in motion and promotes healthy tissue growth in the body. The end result is firm, radiant, and overall healthier skin that looks younger and more beautiful.

FAQ’s – PRP Facelift

What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma is a part of your blood, which contains a higher than normal amount of platelets. Platelets normally help your blood to clot when we cut ourselves. They are like little “powerhouses” that are activated by contact with body tissues and release proteins called growth factors.

What are Growth Factors?
Growth factors stimulate new collagen formation/production, improve wound healing and repair your skin. How do they do that you might ask? Growth factors activate the multipotent stem cells already in the skin, tricking them by thinking there been an injury and new younger tissue should generate. The result, younger-appearing skin!

How does the PRP Facelift work?
The “PRP facelift” procedure uses a hyaluronic acid filler along with your body’s natural Platelet Rich Plasma PRP that is injected below the skin to sculpt a younger appearing face, while still keeping the shape natural.

What are the 2 different PRP Facelift options?

*PRP Facelift with (HA)Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler:

  • Blood from the patient is drawn and put in a centrifuge machine, which spins and separates into its components. You end up with some “straw-colored” fluid that contains the platelets (PRP).
  • As the blood spins the injector uses HA dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Voluma to create a beautiful shape of the face.
  • Finally, we inject the PRP into the face to give it a rejuvenating effect. It can be injected all over the patient’s face or in specific areas of concern.

*PRP Facelift without HA filler:

  • Blood from the patient is drawn and put in a centrifuge machine, which spins and separates into its components. You end up with some “straw-colored” fluid that contains the platelets (PRP).
  • Then we inject the PRP into the face to give it a rejuvenating effect. It can be injected all over the patient’s face or in specific areas of concern.

When these growth factors enter the face the muti-potent stem cells become activated to grow new tissue.  This new tissue includes new collagen, new fatty tissue (for smoothness), and new blood vessels (for a healthy glow).

The treatment is completely safe and the major advantage of a PRP procedure alone is that you are treated with your own body substance. It’s as natural as it gets!

What can I expect from this treatment?/ How do platelets help rejuvenate your skin?
The growth factors in the PRP will improve skin quality and texture, by stimulating new collagen, heal and repair. It can/will decrease dark circles and improve the under-eye area. Smooth fine lines and wrinkles, reduction in open pores, and general plumping of the face.

Who can benefit from getting a PRP “Face Lift”?
Any age group can benefit from PRP. Clients in their 20s and 30s would notice an improvement in acne scars and in skin quality overall. Clients with significant signs of aging from sun exposure will see a smoothing of wrinkles and an increase in facial volume. Those over 40 will probably have the most benefit because it is active, reduce aging issues, and preventative by slowing down the aging process.

The effects of the procedure continue to improve for 2 to 3 months and last up to 2 years!

How often can I get PRP?
It is recommended that people in the over 40 age group get  2-3 PRP Facelift treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Younger patients can often notice benefits from one single treatment.

Once you have had your initial course of PRP you should aim to have one treatment per year to maintain results. Although they are not permanent they are long-lasting.

Is it safe to drive after having PRP injections?
At the laser clinic, we treat clients with PRP Facelift from Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Los Angeles and there is no problem for them to drive after the procedure.

How much does PRP Facelift cost?
PRP Facelift price is dependent on the area being treated, the amount of correction the client requests, and the number of syringes needed to achieve that goal. The nurse injecting the PRP will discuss the exact cost specific to your concerns before anything is started. The cost of adding the PRP to a dermal filler is $250.
